The Perfect Complement

TO YOUR COOKING

Your cuisine is natural. Your tools should be, as well. Wooden spoons are easy to grip and have a warm and comfortable texture. You don’t have to worry about them overheating and melting. Mostly, they just feel right. And cooking is supposed to feel good.

Quality Implements

BEGIN WITH THE RIGHT WOOD

Not every tree can produce the perfect spoon. Some species are more up to the task. Some branches were made for this purpose. They’re out there. And it’s up to the craftsmen to find them and coax them into their final form. Sometimes a perfect day in the shop begins with a walk in the woods.

Functional Art

Every wooden spoon is a working piece of sculpture. Strong, useful, warm—adding another touch of pleasure to one of life’s biggest joys.

Each Unique

FORMED FROM WITHIN

There is no template. While the stock is chosen with a purpose in mind, it’s the wood itself that dictates the design. Lines will be drawn, cut away, then added again, carved to release a beautiful, practical tool with the potential to help make many more wonderful things.

Even Better Together

I like to make sets of spoons from the same tree. Not only is it nice to have a series of spoons and spatulas that are obviously connected, I’ve found that when I’m cooking with one, I most often prefer to reach for one of its companions for a nearby task.

Cooking is personal and yet so often the tools of our kitchens are anything but. A hand-carved spoon can connect you to a place as far away as a forest or as close and comfortable as your own backyard. What else were you going to do with the limbs from your annual pruning chores?
